Trusted Contacts are crucial as they're your emergency contacts in the event you're unreachable during an emergency. Please see below for more information on how to add and manage your trusted contacts.

# Adding a Trusted Contact

By adding a Trusted Contact to your profile, _they'll_ **_only_** _be contacted in emergency situations and **only** if you're unable to be reached first._

_**Please note:** The Wag! App needs access to your phone contacts to easily invite your Trusted Contacts._

1\. Tap "Account" on the bottom nav bar

2\. Tap "Profile"

3\. Tap "Manage Trusted Contacts"

4\. To add new contacts, 

*   **First-time Users:** tap “Invite”

*   **For Returnees:** scroll or utilize the search option to locate your Trusted Contact’s name

5\. Once chosen, tap the bubble next to a contact's name and select “Add contacts”

6\. An SMS window will open with a drafted invitation. Send this message (or a different one!) to add the Trusted Contact to your account

**_Please note_** _that per the [**Wag! Trusted Contacts Policy**](https://safety.wagwalking.com/trusted-contacts), your Trusted Contacts do not have visibility into your Wag! account or any of the information associated with it._

# Adjusting or Removing a Trusted Contact

1\. Tap "Account" on the bottom nav bar

2\. Tap "Profile"

3\. Tap "Manage Trusted Contacts"

4\. To adjust or remove Trusted Contacts,

*   Tap the blue shield icon next to their name, to deselect a contact
*   Then tap "Save" to update
