####

Once you’re approved for a service, it’s booked on your schedule and becomes your commitment to the Pet Parent and their pet. If you miss or cover a service, it can negatively affect pets who are relying on that visit for timely care.

####

### **Key Takeaways**

####

* The app keeps the service booked until it’s completed or canceled in-app (by you or the Pet Parent).
* If no one takes action in the app to complete or cancel a booked service (by you or the Pet Parent), it counts as a missed service on your account and may remain on your schedule until someone cancels it in-app or Support helps resolve it.
* A high rate of missed or covered services can temporarily limit your ability to request new service opportunities.
* This limitation does not cancel your existing booked services—you can still complete them.
* If you can’t make a service, cover/cancel it as soon as possible rather than missing it.
* In some situations, a cover or missed service may not impact your standing. If the issue was caused by a Pet Parent-related situation (like home access issues or being asked to cancel), contact Wag! Support so we can review.

### **Definitions: Missed vs. Covered**

####

_**Please Note:**_ _If a Pet Parent cancels the service in-app, it’s not considered a Pet Caregiver cover._

####

* **Missed Service**: A service that remained booked but was not completed and was not canceled in-app (by you or the Pet Parent).
* **Covered Service:** A service you (the Pet Caregiver) cancel (request to cover). When this happens, a backup service may be created to locate another Caregiver to cover the service request.

####

# **Missed or Covered Services**

Every service booked through the Wag! platform remains booked until it’s completed or canceled in-app. If no one takes action in the app to complete or cancel the service (by you or the Pet Parent), it remains booked and counts as a missed service on your account.

Completed services can positively affect your platform standing. Missed services and Caregiver-initiated cancellations (covers) can negatively affect your [**Walker Score**](https://support.wagwalking.com/en_us/what-is-my-walker-score-pcg-SkdGgw0Nq) and may affect your ability to request new service opportunities.

# **Limited New Service Opportunities**

If you have a higher-than-average rate of missed or covered services, the app may temporarily limit your ability to request new opportunities from the Available Services feed.

How long your account is limited depends on your missed and covered service rate, including how it compares to the number of services you complete.

####

**What the limitation affects:**

####

* Requesting new service opportunities from the Available Services feed.

**What the limitation** **does not** **affect:**

####

* Completing services you already have booked.
* Other app features (messaging, updating your profile/services, etc.).
* Ability to share your referral link, public profile, or to request endorsements.
* Direct Booking Requests (see FAQ below).

_**If additional missed or covered services occur, the limitation period may be extended.**_

# **FAQs**

## Why am I seeing a notice that says to “Try again in 24 hours”?

####

This notice can appear when your account is temporarily limited from requesting new service opportunities due to a high rate of missed or covered services.

During this time, in the Wag! Pet Caregiver app, you should:

1\. Open the “Booked” tab to confirm any upcoming services.

2\. For each upcoming service:

* If you can fulfill the service, keep it and complete it.
* If you can’t, cancel it (cover) as soon as possible so the Pet Parent has time to make other arrangements.

####

## What happens when I’m limited from requesting new opportunities?

####

When you’re limited, you may not be able to request new services from the Available Services feed.

In many cases, the limitation starts around 24 hours and expires as long as there are no additional missed or covered services.

You can still:

* View and complete services in the “Booked” tab.
* Use chat and call features to communicate with Pet Parents.
* Update your service offerings and rates.
* Share your referral code and public profile link.
* Receive Direct Booking Requests (see below).

## Can I still complete services I already have booked?

####

Yes. This limitation does not cancel or prevent you from completing services you already have booked. Please check the “Booked” tab to confirm what’s upcoming.

####

## I had upcoming services booked—did they get canceled?

####

No. A limitation on requesting new services does not automatically change your existing booked services.

However, a Pet Parent can still cancel a service on their end. Always check the “Booked” tab to confirm what’s still scheduled.

If a Pet Parent wants to book with you during this time, they can send you a Direct Booking Request (from their Past & Preferred Pet Caregivers). If you’re already chatting with a Pet Parent, they can tap “Book Now” from the chat to do just that!

####

## Can I still receive Direct Booking Requests?

####

Yes—Direct Booking Requests may still come through while you’re limited from requesting new service opportunities. If you receive one, it appears at the top of the Available Services feed.

####

## Why does the blocked time period keep getting longer?

####

The limitation period can increase if additional services are missed or if you cover (cancel) more booked services.

If you’re unsure whether you can make an upcoming booking, it’s best to review your schedule early and take action in-app:

* If you can fulfill the service, keep it and complete it.
* If you can’t, cancel it (cover) as soon as possible so the Pet Parent has time to make other arrangements.

_**Please Note:**_ _The cancellation reason you select when canceling a service is not shared with the Pet Parent. If you’d like to explain why you’re canceling, message them in the in-app chat before canceling._

# **In Closing**

We understand emergencies happen—however, missed or canceled services can impact real pets who need care.

If you need to cancel (cover) a service due to a Pet Parent-related issue (for example: home access issues, the Pet Parent asked you to cancel, or they won’t cancel in-app), complete the steps to cancel/cover the service and please promptly contact Wag! Support so we can review the situation. Remember, if you can’t complete a service, it’s always better to cancel/cover it than miss it outright.
