####

Book your pet's next overnight stay on the Wag! Platform with either a Sitting or Boarding service. Both options offer flexible, often multi-day care with customized attention for your pet(s).

Pet Caregivers strive to maintain your pet's normal routine and provide the same level of companionship they would receive from you. The primary difference is the location of the service: a Sitting is performed in your home, and a Boarding is performed in the Pet Caregiver's home.

# **🏡 Sitting Services (In Your Home)**

Sittings are ideal for pets who are most comfortable staying in their own environment. These services provide flexible care with options for the Pet Caregiver to stay short-term for Daycare services or to stay longer for overnight care. When you book a Sitting service overnight, you can choose to have the Pet Caregiver stay in your home overnight with your pet(s) (additional fee applies), or for the Caregiver to leave overnight and return the next morning.

A Sitting service commonly involves the Pet Caregiver providing companionship, following feeding and water schedules, offering playtime and/or walks, and administering necessary medications or treatments.

_**Important Note:**_ _Services will vary by Pet Caregiver. Clearly communicate your pet's needs, preferences, and service expectations in their pet profile, service request notes, and directly with the Pet Caregiver._

####

## Special Pet Care Needs

####

If your pet requires special attention, such as not being left alone for more than four hours, this needs to be clearly stated in both their profile and the service request.

* For multi-day Sitting services involving this special care need, we strongly recommend booking an overnight stay with the Pet Caregiver to ensure your pet is not left unattended for excessive periods.
* If the Pet Caregiver does not stay overnight, be aware that your pet is likely to be left alone for four or more hours, depending on the Pet Caregiver's needs and schedule.

## Home Care Instructions (For Sitting Services)

####

Provide the Pet Caregiver with clear instructions for their visits to your home and overnight stay (if applicable), including but not limited to:

# **🚗 Boarding Services (At Caregiver's Home)**

Boarding services can be booked for short-term doggie daycare or for extended overnight stays. Your pet will stay at the Pet Caregiver’s home for the duration of the service.

Pet Caregivers generally aim to maintain your pet's routine and provide a loving, fun experience while they are away from home.

## Concurrent Boardings

####

When booking a Boarding service, you'll be asked a few questions about your pet and how they do with other dogs. These help us match your pup with the right Pet Caregiver and unlock new service options.

As we know, some dogs do very well with company — which is why Pet Caregivers can now welcome multiple boarding clients at once, caring for both dogs under the same roof. This is a way for your dog(s) to have a more traditional doggy daycare and boarding style experience where there are other dogs to socialize with — all within the personal setting of a Caregiver's home, often with their family, too. Dogs are social creatures and this is another way we can help support your pup's needs.

For your service to be eligible to be booked alongside another Boarding service, you will need to ensure that you've selected the following:

Is it ok if the host has other dogs at the location?

Is the dog friendly with other dogs?

By selecting both of these options, you're indicating that you're comfortable if the host (Caregiver) has their own dog(s) or if the host is boarding another client's dog(s) during your own dog's boarding. It's not always guaranteed that your Pet Caregiver will have another dog during your dog's boarding, but selecting both options lets them know you're open to it.

Any dog sharing the stay with yours will have been approved by their Pet Parent for the same compatibility criteria — so everyone's on the same page before the service begins.

## Special Pet Care Needs

####

If your pet requires special attention, such as not being left alone for more than four hours, this must be clearly stated in both in your pet's profile and the service questions asked before you place the service request. This properly sets expectations for interested Pet Caregivers.

## Pet Care Supplies

####

You will be responsible for providing all necessary pet care supplies for your pet’s Boarding service. This may include, but is not limited to (and may not apply to all):

* Food (enough for the entire service), food & water bowls
*   Medication(s) and dietary supplements
*   Treats
* Harness, leash, or other applicable safety equipment (car seat, crate, muzzle, etc.)
* Poop bags and/or litter box supplies
*   Toys
* Clothing (also consider protective gear for seasonal weather)
* Pet bed, blanket, or crate

####

## Pick-Up & Drop-Off

####

When you book a Boarding service you can request for the Pet Caregiver to pick-up and drop-off your pet(s) at the start and end of the service, for an additional fee.

* This must be added on when you place your service request; some Pet Caregivers use public transit or ride-share, which may not be suitable for your pet or their supplies. Pet Caregivers will see this add-on service requested before they opt-in to your service.
* If you do not request this option, you are responsible for transporting your pet(s) and supplies to and from the Pet Caregiver's residence. Connect with your Pet Caregiver for their home address and to coordinate the drop-off/pick-up within the 3-hour window you selected for the start and end of the service.

## Trusted Contacts and Veterinary Information

####

For your pet's safety and to help prepare in the event medical care is needed, Wag! highly recommends adding the following to your profile:

* At least one [**Trusted Contact**](https://support.wagwalking.com/en_us/what-are-trusted-contacts-pp-S1eQeZKm5).
* Your pet’s local veterinary information.

Trusted Contacts will only be contacted if you are unreachable after multiple attempts and the situation requires urgent communication concerning your pet's care and well-being. Having your pet's vet information readily available will help ensure prompt care in the event of an emergency.

_Trusted Contacts and veterinary information is kept confidential and is only for Wag!’s use in the event of an emergency._

# **Overnight Service Expectations**

## Service Start / End Window

####

Both Sitting and Boarding services have a 3-hour start and end window to allow for arrival and departure flexibility. The Pet Caregiver is responsible for starting and ending the service within this time frame and together you're to coordinate pick-up/drop-off. You can message your confirmed Caregiver before and during the service, in addition to the option to call them through the Wag! app once the service has begun.

## Pet Caregiver Availability

####

Unless otherwise agreed upon, Pet Caregivers generally expect the freedom to come and go during Sitting and Boarding services to attend to other commitments, including other pet care, personal obligations, or other employment.

####

### **Sitting Availability**

####

* **When an overnight stay is requested:** The Pet Caregiver is expected to spend the night at your home and will require sleeping accommodations.
* **When an overnight stay is not requested:** The Caregiver will leave for the night to attend to their own needs. Be sure to communicate your pet's last potty break and first potty break in the morning to set proper expectations.

### **Boarding Availability**

####

* Pet Caregivers are commonly home with the pet(s) more throughout the day and overnight, making it easier for them to provide care.
* Clearly advise on the service request if you are comfortable with your pet being around other pets, children, or the Pet Caregiver's family/friends.
* You may also want to discuss directly with your Pet Caregiver if they can take your dog on outings to local parks, hiking trails, or dog-friendly restaurants.

## Caregiver Service Updates

####

During the service, your Pet Caregiver may update the service timeline with details on feeding, walks, playtime, and potty breaks. You will be notified of these updates via push notification**\*** and can view the live service details in the Wag! app "Schedule." Photos and videos may also be shared via in-app messaging.

_**\***Push notifications must be enabled in your phone settings and for the Wag! app permissions._

# **Overnight Pet Care Meet & Greet**

At Wag!, we understand the importance of meeting your Pet Caregiver before your overnight service begins. A 'Meet & Greet' provides a valuable opportunity for several things:

* For you and your pet to get acquainted with the Caregiver.

* To show the Caregiver around your home (if the service is at your residence).

* For you to view the location where your pet will be boarded (if the service is at the Caregiver's home).

You can request a Meet & Greet when you book the service (for an additional fee). The specifics of when and where you meet are mutually decided upon by you and your Pet Caregiver.

**We strongly advise using the Wag! app chat messaging feature to coordinate the Meet & Greet as soon as your booking is confirmed with a Pet Caregiver.**

# **Extending Your Overnight Pet Care Service**

If your schedule changes unexpectedly—whether right before your service begins or while it's in progress—the Wag! app makes extending your pet's Sitting or Boarding simple.

You can easily [**submit a service extension request through the app**](https://support.wagwalking.com/en_us/how-do-i-reschedule-or-cancel-a-service-pp-rkXNVo7Nc) to prolong the service with your current Pet Caregiver, or you can send them a Direct Booking Request for any new, additional services you need.

##

## How Extending Affects Your Price

####

Extending a Sitting or Boarding service recalculates your total cost. You'll be charged the nightly rate for any additional 24 hours added.

If your new end time is 3 or more hours later in the day than your service's original start time, an Extended Care fee applies — 50% of your nightly rate for 3–6 hours later, or 100% for 6+ hours later.

If you're only extending by a few hours without adding a full extra night, you'll just be charged that Extended Care percentage of your nightly rate — not the cost of an entire additional night.

You'll see the updated price estimate before your extension request is submitted, and your Pet Caregiver must approve the request before the new end time is confirmed. See our Help Center article: "[**Service Pricing**](https://support.wagwalking.com/en_us/how-much-does-wag-cost-pp-SyEGMXFz5)" for more on how overnight pricing works.
