# Deactivating Your Account

To take a break from Wag!, you can deactivate your Pet Parent account and prevent login activity until you’re ready to use it again. 

To deactivate your account in the Wag! Pet Parent app:

1\. Tap "Account" on the bottom nav bar

2\. Tap on "Settings"

3\. Select “Account” from the Settings menu

4\. Tap "Deactivate my account"

5\. Confirm the action in the pop-up window

## How can I reactivate my account?

To reactivate your deactivated Wag! Pet Parent account, please contact Wag! Support for assistance. Reactivating your account will restore your service history, preferred Pet Caregivers, and any other saved information.

*   **Re-download the Wag! Pet Parent app**: If you don't have the Wag! app anymore, you can [**download it again here**](https://wagwalking.com/app) from your mobile device or by scanning the QR Code on a desktop.

Please note that creating a _new_ Wag! Pet Parent account will not link up the information from any past, deactivated, or deleted accounts. To avoid any confusion, it is recommended to only have one Wag! Pet Parent account per individual and to not share accounts. 

  

# Deleting Your Account

If you're ready to say goodbye furever, you can delete your Pet Parent account in-app. We’ll be sad to see you go. 

To delete your account in the Wag! Pet Parent app:

1\. Tap "Account" on the bottom nav bar

2\. Tap on "Settings"

3\. Select “Account” from the Settings menu

4\. Tap the three dots (...) in the upper right corner

5\. Select "Delete account"

6\. Confirm the action in the pop-up window

7\. Follow the prompts provided in-app to verify your identity

_Please understand that once an account is deleted, all associated information is also deleted and the data can no longer be retrieved._

## What if I don’t want to verify my identity?

Wag! is dedicated to protecting your privacy and keeping your information secure. Verifying your identity prevents unauthorized data deletion. Before your account can be deleted, you will need to verify ownership of your Wag! Pet Parent account to do so.

## What does deleting my account do?

Deleting your Wag! Pet Parent account will effectively delete the information within your account and the systems that we are legally required to delete. You can reference the [**Wag! Privacy Policy**](https://safety.wagwalking.com/privacy) for additional information on how your data is used.
